HISTORY OF BROOKER RACING

My 1st Race Car

My first year racing was 1996 in Huron at Dakota State Fair Speedway.  I started in the Dakota Bombers class, which is now the Wissota Street Stock Class.  I currently am racing a Wissota Midwest Modified at Miller Speedway on Friday nights and at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron on Saturday nights.

My first race car was a '76 Pontiac Ventura.  I bought it turn-key for $750.00 and ran it in 1996 and 1997.  About all the expenses we had were gas, tires and oil.  My how things have changed.

My Dad and I started building my own race cars, and I started running them in 1998.  For the 2003 season, I was fortunate enough to win an "Arrow Chassis" Street Stock frame from Dirt Track Supply and Dakota Promotions.  I continued racing Street Stocks through 2006.  That year I split my time racing the Street Stock at Huron and an Arrow Chassis Midwest Modified.  In 2007, I traded the mod for an old Super Stock.  I raced 35 nights that year, chasing National Rookie points.  I finished 2nd at Miller (with 2 Heat race wins), and 9th at Huron (and Rookie of the Year);  42nd Nationally, and 5th in the National Rookie standings.  Over the Winter, I sold the Super Stock and bought another Midwest Modified.  I still have a Street Stock for sale if anyone is interested.

Throughout my racing career I won rookie of the year in 1996, Sportsman of the year in Street Stocks for 4 years, along with numerous top 5 points finishes.  In 2007, I was the Wissota Super Stock Rookie of the Year at Huron.

For 2010 we are trying something new.  The car is an Affordable Chassis Midwest Modified.  The engine is a 350 chevy from Bruce Hartley and the transmission is a Powerglide from Mike Ranney.
